Samsung has manufactured some amazing phones recently, among which the Galaxy range of devices are strong contenders in the mobile market. The Samsung Galaxy S2 vs Galaxy Note are two of their finest of productions. Find out the better unit between the two and the one that deserves your cash.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 is an excellent smartphone, which came out with a bang after its release proving to become one of the best Android phones in the universe. The device sports a wonderful 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus display, added with a 1.2GHz dual-core processor.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Note comes with a larger display than the Galaxy S2 measuring a mammoth 5.3 inches, and is something of a beast with a 1.4GHz dual-core processor running inside.
Design
Galaxy Note vs Galaxy S2
Design of the Galaxy Note is classier, with a curved back and a camera that is well supplied to the casing. It is very slim measuring only 9.7 mm and 178 grams, looking portable on paper, but is quite large to fit on your hands. On the bottom there is a cheeky stylus, which is useful for writing notes or sketching at times.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 is well known for its looks with a thin design measuring 9 mm and weighing 115 grams, making it lighter than its rival. Its 4.3 inch screen is still wonderful, while some have complained that the case feels rather plastic like. Since the Galaxy S2 has better looks and feels fantastic, it definitely has an upper hand.
Hardware
The Galaxy S2 created a positive impression after its release occupying a dual-core 1.2GHz processor that worked brilliant while running apps, games and playing video. The screen was similarly amazing and squeezed an 8 Megapixel camera into the devices slender chassis, making it an all-around hardware powerhouse.
When it comes to hardware, the Galaxy Note is an absolute monster. Around the back sports an 8 Megapixel camera, with a strong 1.4 GHz dual-core processor making apps running at lightning speeds. The 5.3 inches display makes contents crisp, clear and really colorful to watch, with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels. The Samsung Galaxy Note has the upper hand in this aspect.
Software
Both these phones run on Android operating system version 2.3 which brings visual tweaks, and navigation handled by three on-screen buttons, rather than any physical keys. On tapping those virtual buttons a new multi-tasking menu pops up, which stacks all the apps you’ve got running up the screen. Also new are folder refinements, and the ability to unlock your phone with your face.
The Galaxy S2 is a magnificent mobile, occupying a better design, but those who love viewing objects at a larger screen will note the Galaxy Note.
