iPad vs iPad 2 – What Are the Differences?

The demands for tablet devices are very high worldwide and very soon every single chap would be using a tablet device rather than a mobile phone. There is a huge competition among the tablet brands like the Apple, Smasung, Acer, Archos, HTC and many more.

Among them Apple’s Tablet device like the iPad, iPad 2 and the new ipad are on the top position boosting in sales in millions from 2010 and increasing every year. Though Samsung has introduced the Samsung Galaxy Tab in a cheaper price worldwide but the huge success of iPad did not give a chance to it. After the huge success of the first model of iPad, Apple decided to launch the iPad 2 which is more powerful and that understand the needs of the consumers.

There was a misconception between the original iPad and iPad 2 that the only difference is in the camera features but let me tell you that there are many differences in features that people are still unaware. Some of the most important differences in iPad vs iPad 2 are: -

Operating System:
The iPad 2 is technically advanced than the original iPad as it has the new OS 4.3 and more 256MB Ram that runs 2 times faster than the previous model and the new A5 processor gives a better graphic display which is 9 times better than the original ipad. The advanced AirPlay technology in iPad 2 lets you to connect to a HD TV through the HDMI to stream videos in order to get a better viewing experience.

Display & Dimensions:
The display and screen has not been changed by Apple unlike in the new iPad or iPad 3. Between the iPad vs iPad 2, the iPad 2 is much slimmer than the original iPad and less in weight too. It is 33% slimmer and weighs only 601 grams that is 15% lighter than the previous model.

Camera Difference:
We know that original iPad doesn’t have the camera function so for a change iPad 2 has introduced a 0.7 mp camera. The HD functions in other devices are great but the iPad 2 lacks this amazing feature. One can shoot images and videos by the 0.7 megapixel camera at 960 x 720 pixels of resolution. Though the picture quality is not as good as pictures taken from an iPhone but we can assume that this section of the device is to be developed and to be found in the new upcoming iPads from apple.

Battery Life:
Every users of electronic portable device look for a strong battery life and this is what Apple has implemented in their iPad devices. The battery power of the original iPad is brilliant but in iPad 2 some special measures have been taken in order to give an extra power on the standby in iPad 2 that lasts more than a month.

Overall form the differences between iPad vs iPad 2 we can say that the real winner is iPad 2. Considering the price factor of iPad 2 the price is a bit higher than the original iPad but is it worth the device knowing the differences between them ? What I would say is that it completely depends on the user’s needs and practical experiences whether to go for a fast multi-tasking performer like iPad 2 or to stick to the original iPad.
