Today’s battle will take place between Samsung’s famous Galaxy S II and Sony Ericsson’s, Xperia Arc. Both these phones are similar in size and weight, but are totally different as far as the design is concerned. Lets find out the better smartphone.
Finding out Similarities and Differences
Both the Samsung and the Sony Ericsson phone are remarkably thin and lightweight at the same time. There is a huge difference in their display as the Xperia Arc accompanies a 4.2 inch LED-backlit LCD capacitive touchscreen at 480 x 854 pixels, with excellent features such as scratch-resistant surface, multi-touch and accelerometer.

Processing power is one aspect where the Samsung masterpiece has an upper hand. It comes with a 1.2GHz Dual Core Exynos CPU with graphics power coming from a Mali-400MP GPU proves much better than the processor on the Xperia. However, the Sony Ericsson’s smartphone possess a 1 GHz Qualcomm Scorpion processor on the MSM8255 Snapdragon chipset backed up by an Adreno 205 GPU.
When it comes to storage, the Xperia Arc has only 320 MB of internal memory while the Galaxy S2 with 16 GB. The phone can be expanded in terms of memory using an 8 GB card. Both these phones occupy the 2.3 Gingerbread OS but can be upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich.
The last and important aspect to look up is the camera capabilities. The Xperia Arc has an 8 Megapixel camera capable of capturing contents at 720 pixels, featuring auto focus and a video light. Camera of the Galaxy S2 is of 8 Megapixels with a resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels offering autofocus, touch focus, LED flash, geo-tagging, face and smile detection and image stabilization as enhancers.
The Xperia Arc’s specifications functions and features may be quite close, but the winner is definitely Samsung’s Galaxy S2.
